A glimpse of life normally hidden from view.

A river otter's view of life inside the den.

Tongass National Forest near Juneau, AK .(http://www.fs.fed.us/r10/tongass/).

The words of an expert regarding the den itself ....
"It's tough to say what the dimensions are, but my guess would be less than 3 feet by 3 feet in the den where the camera is. Of course, the entire lodge contains multiple den rooms connected to each other. Otters are pretty big animals and can be 5 feet tip to tip. In the images, you never can see the whole otter and he can't get too much farther back from the camera in that particular den. I wouldn't doubt that there are at least a dozen dens within the lodge, with some of them under the stick pile and others being excavated into the hillside next to the pond. "

Needless to say, this structure is a lot larger than one would think from this camera's view.
